When Rakesh called me and told me he wanted to renew his vows and get married again to Claudia , I got goose bumps….From the time we sat down to discuss, I just loved this couple, Even after being married to each other for 15years, they were so thrilled and so much in love. And can you believe it, they wanted to be a part of everything, they divided the to-do list and responsibilities among each other. Claudia wanted a fairytale Christian wedding with coral pink and off-white theme. They choose The Sommer House, as their venue, which has so much natural beauty and character by itself .As I started drawing out the ideas of how I would like to style their decor, they approved immediately and let me do my magic .They chose 5th Sep’2015 as it was Rakesh’s fathers 80th Birthday and they even decided to make it extra special by christening their son on the same day. They celebrated this lovely day with 100 guests.
The Couples planning process…
The planning began soon as we got the rectification of marriage complete from the Archbishop’s office, which happened just few days prior to us leaving for USA for summer holidays in mid June. Claudia and I prepared a to-do list and started working on it as and when we had time when we were in USA holidaying. Claudia’s mom and Sister helped a lot in giving ideas about the dress style colours for the Bride’s maid, the various Mexican traditional ceremonies to be incorporated in the wedding, music selection etc. We also had to work on the invite list and send it out as soon as possible as there was not enough time. Some shopping was done in Mexico and some in USA. Before leaving Rakesh had already booked the beautiful venue – The Sommer House, and the Vintage car. After we came back from the holidays, we had only 3 weeks left. That’s when we found our saviour Reena Alex @TheWeddingSpell to help with the decor styling and event planning.
The Bride’s dress & Accessories.
The wedding dress is from “Novia Regales” El Paso, Texas, USA and Accessories are given by Claudia’s mother.
Rakesh got his suit from Calvin Klein, USA
Neeraj Ray, Jose Canas, Christos Pattichis, Roland Perez
Monica Kreiling, Carolina Pattichis, Heta Ray and Maribel Gordillo.
Valeria Canas & Camila Italia
The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Whitefield. Reena got the arch decorated with white lilies, orchards and coral pink roses. And placed flower bunches with bows on the side of the church benches and placed pillar arrangements at the entrance of the church.
What did you feel when you saw the reception setting?
It was like a dream come true. The entire decor and arrangement looked perfect! We were nervous the previous night how it would turn out, but once we came to the reception, we just soaked in to this dream with our friends and family!
Advice to other couples
The couple needs to get equally involved in the planning. Let it not stress you; enjoy every bit of the process. But be ready for all sorts of surprises good or bad! In the end everything will be fine, because if it’s not, then it’s not the end!
